1825 Darlington & Stockton railway bicentenary

Post by 40/- freeholder »

I'm well out of my comfort zone in this decade of C19th, but I'm starting to put together an outfit in hopes of costumed events in the 2025 bicentenary year.
Are there any non-military groups that do this period?

Times Past will do this period if we get a booking. In 2019 we did a Peterloo massacre gig

There seem to be an awful lot of Jane Austen themed Empire/Regency groups, balls and events and some 1830's Romantic era but the 1820's seem to be overlooked. My interests for this era are in dancing and livestock. I love Shorthorns but too big and expensive to keep. I was hoping for an 1820's dance group or Playford ball as an excuse to make a ballgown, as I have the sheer overdress of an original ballgown of this era I'd like to try replicating.
