Watched the first episode yesterday. Set in 1821. Struggled understanding the dialogue at first...had to turn the volume up.
Its seems like an awfully muddy place...I hate to think of the laundry 'aunt patience' would have to do with maryellen(?) always getting muddy hems.
Not convinced by the loose hair...wouldn't they have had some kind of hap or at least tied thier hair back or platted it or something?
The fashionable shilloette of the dresses seems at odds with with dishevelled appearance.

They did some work on it I think, before putting the second one out as so many people complained. The actor that played the uncle, Sean Harris i think he's called? I've seen him in other things and he's great but does talk quietly, he was in the Borgias.
