King's Dragoon Guards Waterloo

Post by DragoonGuard »

Hi... Im new to this site and a serving member of the QDG. One of our Forebear regiments was the King's Dragoon Guards KDG who distinguished themselves at Waterloo. I wonder? Are there any guys on here who re-enact this regiment?

The 1st Royal Dragoons are re-enacted. Griff (Mark Griffin) who posts on here plays with them from time to time.

No one has done the Dragoon Guards. There was a group doing the Lifeguards back in the 90's, but they have all faded away now I think.
Young men have often been ruined through owning horses, or through backing them, but never through riding them: unless of course they break their necks, which, taken at a gallop, is a very good death to die

There are several sites for individual periods floating around so look around bait, shows generally fall in line with leave periods and weekends, how's your co and qm for storing personnel weapons in the armoury? You a pad or singly cause kit builds up so quickly lol, but in general the army tends to love reanactors theres lots of us floating around , Even a few in Germany, are you new to reanactment as a whole? Trust me there's nothing quicker for getting red of your tour bonus than a good show lol. Any dramas drop us a bell and I'll help we're I can.

As John says, not aware of any KDG from 1815 era. 1RD will be in full effect at Waterloo in 2013 as well as the La Bossiere Ecole tactical event in Sept.
