Halberds and WOTR authenticity

Hi everyone

I am currently saving up to buy more kit to get my self up to a level to be able to skirmish. my question is does any one know if halberds were in use during the WOTR Britain I know they were popular within Europe but I cant find any references to them in Britain what with the prominence of the military bill. If anyone can help I would be very grateful.
