A crushingly good birthday present....

Postby Jim Smith » Sun Apr 26, 2009 7:11 pm

Just got back from one of the more unusual types of birthday treat - tracked vehicle driving. Thanks to my wife, I've been driving a British APC and a Russian self-propelled howitzer before crushing a car with a Chieftan tank. Absolutely outstanding. Some pictures of the finale..

Much more can be seen on the company's website

www.tanks-alot.co.uk

A bloke called Nick Mead runs things - cracking guy and a mine of information on armoured vehicles both British and foreign.

Yep - it was an L reg with knackered seals highly unlikely to pass its next MOT.

Sighs wistfully... And the excellent thing is that being tracked, it is apparently tax and MOT exempt. Diesel consumption is hell though :(

Where do you think that all the fuel from miss-fueled cars goes? Tanks are mostly multi-fuel and will run on anything. re-enactor from the ww2 boys used to work for Nick thats where the info came from.

Jim, I'm green with envy! Ewen and I were talking about how much fun it would be to play with a tank on Sunday after watching a programme about an American restoring a WW2 tank

home
Reminds me off a Rally driving birthday present, instructor said i should stick to race tracks...
was heard to say less things to hit, including cameramen...
