Roman re-enactors in Worcestershire

Post by Sani »

Hello there

I was just wondering if there are any Roman re-enactors living in or around Worcestershire?

Cheers
Tom.

We're up in North Wales, and there's The Vicus who are based around South Wales and Bristol - ish - pretty much where you are, really.

It depends what sort of Romans you are looking for... :)

Local ones lol - for a University presentation on arms and armour of the Romans / Iron-Age British peoples which I have to give. As a re-enactor myself I understand that the chances of getting a Roman re-enactor to come and display a few bits and pieces for free is just not going to happen; enless perhaps they live very local.

Alternatively, does anyone know where to purchase a reasonable replica of a spatha and gladius? Ive seen the depeeka ones on armentaria and they do seem rather good....

They're alright to look at but the metal quality is a bit suspect. I've seen one of their spathas snap clean across the blade. Okay for show and tell pieces but I wouldn't use one.

We aren't based anywhere, we're all over the country (107 of us, at the last count!)

Bless.
I didn't want others put from joining because they thought we were only in one part of the country, though

You're posh, you are, you've got foreign members too. And Irish and Scots. Coo!
