Machine embroidery - scallops

Post by Shadowcat »

I am planning a set of costumes two projects ahead, so no immediate rush for this.

Does anyone have a machine that does nice big fat scallops on muslin? Mine does little itty bitty ones, and I drive myself witless cutting away the spare fabric. It would almost be quicker to hand embroider, but the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome then kicks in - who'd be a sewist?

my mother has an industrial embroidery machine that she's been trying to get rid of if you'd be interested - you would have to collect it from wales.

I can give you her email address if you want it.

I really don't have the space for another machine, nor the ability to collect such a machine as I don't drive. But thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Cherry

Seems to be stuck in the ether somewhere. Could try shadow7catatyahoodotcodotuk if it doesn't turn up?

It was just that I was interested in the machine and wanted to know how much was wanted for it.

We are in Wales

That's Ariarnia - she offered it to me some time ago. Not much use to me as I keep trying to retire!

Yeah, sorry, I remembered the other day that you were the person I offered it to before.

Need to learn to remember names...

Dear Ariarina

If you still have the machine I'd be interested to know more about it. And I'd love another trip to Wales.

I know Gracie Tyler has just started creating quite large scale bespoke embroidery projects with a whizzy new machine that she uses to scan in images with - I have just tried searching for her online but must have gotten something wrong as I can't find her!

She may even have a web link banner ad by now here on LH - I'm off out again now but will check my business card collection when I get time!

Thanks Kate - all suggestions welcome, although I may well have this particular problem solved - there is always a chance of another one.
