Basically... anyone recommend any insurers that can cover Have-A-Go Archery?
We'd tried GNAS however they will only cover non-commercial ventures.
Any ideas?

Must go and read small print...
We tried that.... apparently all the money would have to go to the group. This is fine if we're doing it as part of a reenactment group but we also wanted to try our hand as doing it as a trader in our own right.

Well that's simple. Form a group that does this and use the "profit" to equip its members.

Our group has just taken out insurance with John Hughes that covers have-a-go archery - he's very helpful, and certainly worth talking to.

None of the ideas expressed above are really mine. I get them from Luthor and Ferdinand, the five inch tall space aliens who live under my desk. In return for these ideas, I have given them permission to eat any dust bunnies they may find under there.

Try the SPTA, (Society for the Promotion of Traditional Archery) for advice... as it used to be you only had to be members to get the insurance free... (I THINK it was £12 per member per year when I last paid my membership) also I think they had some kind of scheme for members where they will insure you and also help promote your Archery event as long as you stuck to thier (sensible) safety rules... Dont take my word for it as things may have changed in the last few years...
Hilary Greenland used to be the lady to speak to on this...
They also used to and I think still do traditional bow making courses and the like...
PM me if you would like contact details, website address or more info...it might spur me on a bit also as the LH group we are part of has been asking around the campfire if we could do "Have a go" so I could do with asking the questions anyway at some point...
