Mens formal dress, 1770s

Postby Thomas Hayman » Sat Sep 29, 2007 8:54 pm

Hi, wanting to branch out from 15th century and do some of this late period stuff. I've eyed up this Velvet suit http://www.vam.ac.uk/collections/fashio ... index.html .

However, i can't seem to find anything more about clothing from the period. Does anyone have any good links to books or websites that explain more about the construction of this kind of formal wear please??

Thanks for your help.

I'll get in before anyone else does and post the link to the C18th page of 'The Costumiers Manifesto'

Do you know which group you want to branch out with ? They may have more specific information about the dates that they portray.
