Viking women on the battlefield....

From Harby in Denmark, came to light last year.

Really nice find, not only for the unusual depiction of a woman armed with sword and shield but also for the clear depiction of a shield with a decorated face and applied rim.

And she is also wearing what appears to be a haneroc dress. Not terribly practical for fighting in but.........
