Irish character 9-10th century

Postby Galington » Tue May 22, 2012 10:19 pm

I'm thinking about starting a character of Irish descent can anyone suggest where I could find information on Ireland and Irish warfare for 9th-10th century period?

Thanks

A good starting point would be "The Annals of Ulster", the stories of Finn McCool or the "Tales of the red branch". Not, perhaps, in period - exactly - but its somewhere to begin. They will give you a flavour of the culture and the role of the warrior elite.
