Sutton hoo hat?

Postby Robert » Fri May 16, 2008 10:14 pm

Hi,
I'm looking for any information available on an otter skin cap found at the Sutton Hoo site.
I am thinking of making a reconstruction. All I can find out myself is that is was made of wool or felt and trimmed with otter fur.
Any more info or pictures would really be appreciated.

Have you asked the Sutton Hoo centre for advice on where the information on it was published? Its never a bad idea to go straight to the archaeological reports if you want to make a replica of something. :D

I presumed they would n't have the archaeology report in the nearest library but I checked again and luckly I found it there.
