Bee hives
Does anyone know anything about recreating a Roman bee hive? All I can find is that Virgil wrote about them and that there were laws governing beekeeping in ancient Rome
Re: Bee hives
It would be worth getting The Archaeology of Beekeeping by Eva Crane out via interlibrary loan (you are unlikely to be able to buy a copy easily) she also wronte another,World History of Beekeeping and Honey Hunting, though I think there was also a more easily sourced booklet on the same topic put out by IBRA a decade or so ago.
