Bromans : Roman History "ladded up" or a chance for some real interest

Postby Henri De Ceredigion » Thu Sep 14, 2017 10:48 pm

This evening saw the launch of the new ITV2 game / reality / sports (call it what you will) show "Bromans" where eight couples live the lives of Roman gladiators (although to be fair they are more like raw recruits than actual gladiators) and has been called the new "Love Island". Having watched that first programme, my attention was immediately taken by the reconstruction of Rome that ITV2 built (to which I would give 10 out of 10 for) but would only rank the rest of the show as 1 out of 10 (as I am pretty sure they didn't have showers in Ancient Rome, nor free alcoholic drinks at a club just for the gladiators) but wanted to know what other members thought particularly with a view to generating interest in Roman re-enactment?
