Bach for Concerto for Oboe and Violin

Postby Queen of the Night » Thu Dec 21, 2006 1:00 am

Hello

A desperate plea.........

Has one got/can get hold of/will lend me/can point me in the right direction of where I can find the sheet music for the J S Bach Concerto for Oboe and Violin? (Orchestral parts not necessary; a piano accompaniment is fine). We've tried libraries, oboeist friends and I've searched online...........

Please help - it's for mine and Wayland's wedding in February - our 2 friends have offered to play the slow movement but we're having real problems actually finding the dots.

Many thanks
Mags

Mornin', Mags!

Have you tried Chappell of Bond Street? They're supposed to have the largest range printed music in stock, according to their website. Try emailing them on enquiries@chappellofbondstreet.co.uk

If you have it posted, the response is really quick - I needed a flute book for Small Spawn, rang them on Friday in a panic as the shop I had ordered it from forgot to tell me they couldn't get hold of it (!) and the book arrived on Saturday, just in time for Small Spawn's first lesson on the Monday.

My mind not only wanders - sometimes it leaves completely!

Hello Mags will have a go at finding it for you.
On the phone as we speak.
Have you got any more details? Was it originally for 2 violins? or the key?
If you heard it on a CD, is there any more info that way?
Feel free to ring us - 01283 730602

All the best, Helen and Steve.
