15th century Dance Workshop
Sunday 1st October 2006
1:30pm – 5:00pm
British Legion Hall, 21 Leyton Road, Harpenden AL5 2HU
Hertfordshire Early Dance invites you to its second workshop exploring the earliest known English dance collection. This session is likely to interest morris, folk and historical dancers as well as anyone with an interest in Moresk.
Recently discovered in the Derbyshire Record Office, the Gresley Manuscript is believed to date from before 1500, and contains 26 dance descriptions along with 13 dance tunes. The dances raise many intriguing questions of interpretation.
All welcome – no previous experience necessary.
Refreshments provided.
Fee: £5 (HED members £3)
