Mary Rose fiddle

Postby Foxe » Wed Nov 06, 2013 9:08 am

Just finished a replica of one of the Mary Rose fiddles. The body is copied from the surviving fragments, the neck and fittings are conjectural based on similar instruments.

That looks great, lovely work. I've never heard a box fiddle played, how does it sound compared to a viol shaped fiddle?

It's very mellow indeed, and a fair bit quieter than a "normal" fiddle. Lovely indoor instrument.

Hi, I am wondering if you made any more Mary Rose fiddles and might have one for sale.
Cheers
