Hello all,
I am interested in British regimental fifers during the American War of Independence. What tunes did they play, can you buy replica Fifes and is there anyone who can teach me?
Many thanks

A google for "Revwar music" or such, will bring up quite a few US links..Or ask Cat in the Lexington company...I know She was looking at that side of things.

Re: British Fifers in the AWI
GGedneyGodwin does a British fife and a lovely fife case too. However comes from the states. You are basically looking at a direct pound to dollar price (going by personal experience) he is quite happy to ship to the UK too. The website link is http://www.gggodwin.com/ProdList.asp?scat=56 so you'd basically be looking at about £200 all in, that's the rosewood fife, fife case, sling, he also does regimental lace at 8 dollars a metre. Personally I'd make one biggish order so that there's just one consolidated shipping fee. They are an ultra reliable trader too, so that's a bonus.
