Is there any CD around that might feature music that is linked to the Santiago pilgrimage. I'm not interested in the song of Roland as I have that already but any specific secular or sacred music. I want to bulid my collection up some more.

For sacred music, try Compostela ad Vesperas Sancti Iacobi, which is the Vespers of Saint James, from the 12th century Codex Calixtanus. Recorded by Ensemble Organum, see naiveclassique.com Very atmospheric.

Although it's not specifically for Compostela, more the Holy Land, have you got "On the Way to Bethlehem (Music of the Medieval Pilgrim)? It's on the Naxos early music label and so is affordable. I think it's really good though and evokes the atmosphere of a pilgrim experiencing new traditions and sounds on their journey, great range of reed instruments and hypnotic percussion too. It covers 12th - 14th century.

Try this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cantigas-Santa- ... 023&sr=8-1
or generally the Cantigas di Santa Maria
(a selection here http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss_b?u ... igas+maria)
I've always associated Stella Splendens with the pilgrimage to Santiago too

The Bella Domna CD has some Codax tunes on it, ie the Vigo tunes, awesome stuff, one of my favourites, sung by that Bulgarian woman, Marta something.

The other half is Proven├žal choons, sung by same, again lovely to listen to.
