I have for sale a very well made, Viking Sceax, having a blade 5.5 inches in length. The blade contains some runic script. The grip appears to be made of either bone or antler and has lovely brass ferrules and a highly decorative pommel cap, containing a cross(?) and inter-laced knots.
The sceax comes complete with it's sturdy leather scabbard, the edges of which are bound in decorated copper.
Price: £65+pp

Re: Viking Sceax
Can I ask how sharp it is? I'm looking for a seax to use in school visits.
Thanks,

Re: Viking Sceax
Hi Richard
The blade edge is no sharper than your average pocket pen knife. I can press the blade edge quite firmly and run my finger along the blade edge with damaging my finger whatsoever
