SOLD: GDFB 6mm maille long sleeved hauberk
FOR SALE
GDFB medium sized 6mm alternating solid and riveted maille long sleeved hauberk.
Round wire, round rivet. Some small areas of rust that will wire brush off, worst area pictured.
Comes with a GDFB gambeson to wear underneath and the vestiges of a hood which I had been planning to attach and to taper the sleeves: Good project for a rainy weekend, can supply additional rings and rivets and riveting tool if required.
£300 plus postage. Paypal an option if gift payment.

Re: FOR SALE: GDFB 6mm maille long sleeved hauberk
Hi, what chest size would this fit?
Could you let me know the measurement across the chest when laid out on the floor, and the measurement from shoulder to bottom of the hauberk please.
Is the coif and spare links included in the price?
If it fits me, I am interested.
Kind regards,
Mark

Hi.
From GDFB web site:
Details Medium
Chest circumference: approx. 130 cm when fully extended. Your chest should not exceed 115 cm when wearing your gambeson.
Length: approx. 105 cm
Arm length: approx. 50 cm
Ring Internal diameter: approx. 6 mm
Flatring width: approx. 1 mm
Finish: natural (lightly oiled)
Weight: approx. 12.4 kg
I will measure up later and see if this is correct. The beginnings of the integral hood (basically head and face to about the chin) plus the loose rings and rivets can be thrown in gratis.

Measured up and seems to be the medium as above.
Re: FOR SALE: GDFB 6mm maille long sleeved hauberk
Ok, thanks. I will measure up against my existing hauberk when I get home this evening, to see if it is of a similar size.
Many thanks,
Mark

Hi
Iam pretty sure that's NOT a GDBF Gamby infact it looks very much like one of my old ones which I passed on so it was made by Debs

There’s a country in Europe where they treat their ex soldiers with pride no waits for medical treatment after injuries received during service, no amensia from the government. Cant for the life of me recall where it is but I know exactly where it is not.
