The Company of Chivalry - Seeking New Members

Post by Simon Atford »

The Company of Chivalry is a reenactment and living history society portraying a military company in the service of John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster in circa. 1370. The society was formed in 1988 by a group of people from all walks of life with a shared passion for medieval England.

We are based in the West Country (Bristol, Somerset and Wiltshire) and do most of events in Somerset and Wales.

We are currently seeking new members to swell our ranks. We seek both combatants interested in becoming bill men, archers or squires and non combatants interested in portraying tradesmen and women, merchants and even priests.

The address of the barn is:

Winterbourne Medieval Barn, Winterbourne, Bristol, South Gloucestershire BS36 1SD. The event is on Saturday 14th June. The 16th is a Monday

I imagine someone will sort you out some spare kit but bring a sleeping bag if you're staying over.

:D Yeah thanks. I did try to amend the date, but being a new member the posts had to wait clearance before I could see them.

Sleep over :o that wasn't mentioned. Sounds like more than just a training session.

If your able to provide some additional Newbie info or ask Martin very nicely to respond to Facebook messages for the CoC, that would be great.

Don't worry you don't have to sleep over if you don't to but many of us will be. It is a full event rather than a training session. We will setting up on the Friday and packing down on the Sunday but if you just want to come along on the Saturday that's cool.

If you are not getting any replies on FB try this email address: cocmembership@hotmail.co.uk

I'll post this thread up in the CoC group though as well.

All the best Simon Atford.

Just wanted to update this site on my progress on joining a re - enactment group.

The company of chivalry has been great. I've kitted up and done a few events and I love it. I invited some family and friends who also enjoy it.

Fully recommend anyone who might be interested to check them out.
