AT LAST! An authentic pirate living history group.
I am very pleased to announce the formation of the UK's very first pirate living history group. The Flying Gang will portray the company of Thomas Anstis, active in the Atlantic Ocean 1721-1723, to the highest standards of historical accuracy possible within the usual constraints. No Hollywood shenanigans, The Flying Gang will portray various aspects of pirate life in a living history setting.
Keen new recruits will be very welcome indeed, and we aim to help people out with research and kit as much as possible.
We'll be setting up a Facebook group in the near future, but anyone interested is welcome to contact me or PoD here via PM or via this thread.

I so wish I had time to join, but please keep me in the loop for updates, I'm regularly looking at items that may be useful and tweaking my own offerings to increase accuracy as more evidence comes up

And i understand his wife was on board, using a hand-held air moving device to waft a cooling breeze across her face. There was a problem with the loading of the aforementioned cargo and some of it spilled out overhead..... insert punchline.

Quick! Complain to the Environment Agency that you bought a house on a flood plain and now your feet are wet because it's raining.
Or man up and be a pirate.

Can I interest you in a pair of bucket boots, sir? Or perhaps a 6" ornate belt buckle with genuine patina? No? I can see you're a discerning gentleman, how about a cup-hilt rapier, skull necklace and some eye-shadow?
