Medieval Combat Society

The Medieval Combat Society performs to the public displays of Combat, Archery, and Dancing set to a Medieval Encampment from the reign of the most noble, king Edward III. Come along to an event and meet us.

Join us If you want to play a knight, noble, peasant, archer, friar or other role for fun weekends away in a Medieval encampment, bringing along or learning new skills from the Fourteenth Century. Members enjoy taking part in as much or as little as they wish to, whether it be banqueting, living history or full contact non choreographed free form combat, there are so many different possibilities to play roles and levels of interest to immerse yourself in the Middle Ages. The society performs from the South Coast, to the Midlands, and from the East Coast to the Welsh borderlands, with the odd trip abroad to events such as Agincourt. We are open to members from all walks of life and are a family friendly society.

Book us, The Medieval Combat Society aim is to entertain and thereby generate an interest to educate the public in history, and is available for hire. The MCS performs displays from the reign of Edward III and the Black Prince with their victories at Crecy, poitiers, Najera and the capture of Calais it is an interesting time for armour development, and the foundation of the Order of the Garter, the time of Chaucer, but also the time of the Black Death. The society was formed in 1970 and has performed hundreds of displays at all sorts of venues from fayres to castles as well as appeared in numerous TV Shows, documentaries and on film.
