Blackwork patterns and thread winders

Post by Teagirl »

I know that people are familiar with Leon Conrad's blackwork but I'd like to mention someone else who spends time every year here in the UK researching and producing blackwork patterns from original works in the V&A, and also has some pretty nice thread winders and bone needles for sale on her site. Leon did sell her books for a while but they are not listed on his site at present. Linn is more than happy to discuss historic needlework with you if you want to drop her a line. for the winders and needles for a small sampling of her work. shows her research and patterns from Peter Quentel's 1527 Modelbuch.

Linn's a superb researcher/textile historian and travels here to the UK at least once or twice a year to do her research and she introduced me to the delights of the pattern books in the British Library many years ago.
