Boiled Shirts

Postby Shadowcat » Sat Oct 01, 2005 12:14 am

Does anyone know a laundry that still starches those incredibly stiff shirt fronts called boiled shirts? And the stiff collars that go with them? And do you know where I can buy boiled shirts? And of course the collars. Or even give me a clue as to where to go looking.

Dear Shadowcat, try looking at 'The Garter, the directory that supports costuming' - London laundries are listed there. Available from Create the Mood Publications. Google the book name or contact me via pm.

Sorry Frances, but most of those places are no longer in business. This is why I asked for advice.

Ah, see if you can get hold of a copy of the latest time out shopping guide to London. They have a whole team of people going around the shops searching out little known places. I know that there was a new edition of their shopping guide earlier this year. Good Luck
