Painting of woman combing her hair?

Post by sally »

I can see it in my minds eye- late tudor or seventeenth century sort of date, she's standing with her corset showing and she's combing her hair. Its a really well known painting and I just can't pin it down. Someone put me out of my misery and remind me who it is?

Elizabeth Vernon, Countess of Southampton. (1572-1655) By an unknown artist c.1600. The Buccleuch Collection Boughton House, Kettering, Northants. (Sorry I haven't the post code!)
