Does anyone have any pictures of a dress matching the title that they could point me at, please?

I have a vague description of one that a friend would like made but need to get some pictures to show her to see if what she wants is actually the one that she thinks she wants.

Any help gratefully received!

Tricky one to answer without stepping on toes as there are several suppliers of absolutely fab dresses that post on this forum.

Cheryl (who I think is drachelis on here) has some lovely pictures, and I think does the sort of dress that someone who just fancies a posh medival dress might be picturing.

Try here for suggestions - good sources, mainly noble. From miniatures, books of hours and paintings mostly.

Its amazing that they let me vote.

Just been scanning the shadowlightdesign website.

also check out http://www.imagesonline.bl.uk/britishlibrary/

manuscript illustrations you can search by date.

and the medival tailor has a couple of easy to make gowns (according to friends who sew less than me  , cos I'm no guide for 'normal' peeps) with clear line sketches.

With anything like this though it's about the quality. Suggest you find some pictures for the lady in question and then get her to NLHF and TORM to see the quality and talk to the makers.

I will also have some gowns on my stock rail at the NLHF- might just suit her and also give her an idea of what one might look like on.

Most of the makers who attend the re-enactors market or lh fayre will have gowns that can be tried, and there are quite a few.
