Crimes against Authenticity

Postby JC Milwr » Tue Jul 04, 2006 1:58 pm

I shall no doubt be brandishing my camera at the worst of the worst at Tewkesbury again this year, so if anyone wants to look at the resulting album, drop me a line, and I'll tell you the URL.

Note: This is a bit of fun, so in the unlikely event you end up as the subject of one of the pictures, feel free to explain why you shouldn't be there!

Last years piccies are available still, so if you wanna take a peek, let me know.

My camera battery ran out last year, so I couldn't get all I wanted to...

Or a hidden one, perhas you could borrow one from WW2 re-enactors that fits in a handbag or book or something. Then we wouldnt spot you in time to run.

Oh go on them pm me the link if you please, just so I can check if I am there,as I must admit Tewkers is a bit of a "weekend off" as far as our normal LH standards go, but we tent to camp out of the limelight as it were so's not to attract undue attention.

Thats not to say that our camp is a plastic fest ,just that we dont put our all into it.

Still chat to mops tho if we get asked anything and have a good display.

MOP or Fop? Please note the MOPS in varying qualities of fancy dress, which gives another angle altogether .

Last year I most liked the combination of Italian High rennaissance satin with filletted anglo-norman veiling.

Sounds like an aoplogy in advance :D

This will be my first one, but I have bee briefed so I have put all my anal retention aside for this one and will not be too worried about some o f my kit and will make more compromises than usual. I am tempted to wear my Hawaiaiaaiaiian shirt and see if anyone notices.

My apology in advance :D

Gandi are you going?

I tried to exclude people who were obviously MOPs having a bit of fun, but I didn't ask them! My intention is to capture people who think they've got it right, but have either done just the wrong amount of research, or none at all!

Not to say I haven't been there, cos I have in my early days, but I'm a cruel soul and like to mock just a little bit.

I don't worry about people with their skirt kilted, or just one layer, or chaps with their hose off, especially if it's hot.

Beloved is almost convinced we need a better camera, mwahahaha.

Oh I am looking forward to seeing these, as we should be able to spot the crimes a little easier this time - we had a look at Jalea's last ones when we first joined Milwr, and as we were total newbies we had to be guided through the crime minefield! :?

Now we are veterans of a whole 9 months or so we should now be experts at spotting the less-than-orfentic

My lot are sort of having the weekend off too - a nice bonus for the poor committee! We'll be there and we'll be authentic, but I'm not being uber-nazi about it as I usually would.

We'll be camped in the Lancastrian campsite at the far end of the battlefield again - bliss! Ok, further away from the beer tent and market, but virtually no MOPS made it down there last year - whilst the lads went onto the field and got hot and sweaty, us girls actually spent most of Sunday sitting in our shifts in front of our tents, drinking ice-cold Pimms - I think we saw one MOP that day!

I'd love to see last year's piccies though, please miss.

Well, some are bad but I have seen far far worse.

I remember that old joker Steve Driscoll (come back Steve! We love you!!! PM me if you are on this thing) at Tewkey cutting a hole in a bed sheet and sticking his head through it and whipping a belt around to finish the look. He stood next to the group with that kit and no one noticed for about five minutes!!

The Captain was very polite though when he asked if he could, perhaps, if it wasn't too much trouble..... go away.

Haha!

There were worse, but the camera gave out, this year should be better :)

Incidentally, if you're trying to avoid me, I look a bit like this:

Well, goto http://www.oxfordhousehold.co.uk/ to see me (be quick before I update it!! Well, I say quick.. maybe one-two months..). I am the furthest right. Of course, there is a reason for this gender-bendering at Twinwoods but I shall not tell you why. By the way, the guy far left is for hire... he did a remarkable strip!!

Ahem. Cough cough.

Ahh no sign of me in the "authinti crimewatch" gallery, didnt think there would be, as sombody else has already said, our LH is relaxed and not the normal ubernazi (not that we are that bad anyway as everyone knows what they need to do :P )

Gosh some of them were BAD

Oh and Hamish it want an apoligy just an excuse :P youll have to pop over and say hello (and maby buy raffle tickets).

Thanks Dave for the photolink but you really need to update the gallery with the others as I'm sure there are some corkers in there (piccies not the oxford ladeeeys that is)
