Got this Edwardian tailcoat and im going to a victorian day at a railway am I right in saying these was only worn for formal events not day wear and I should stick to a frock coat I do have a silk top hat
But my friend went to all the costume hire places and asked for a Victorian costume and the first thing they offered him was a tailcoat like the one below but we want to get it right it it was an Edwardian event I have an Morning tailcoat

'Victorian' covers a lot of time! What sort of decade?

our idea of a 'frock coat' has been watered down somewhat.
