Patterns for Medieval soft kit.

In these times of scrimping and trying to save a bit of cash I was wondering where one could get some patterns for soft kit (mainly medieval but some iron age and Roman would be good also) as I just thought it would save me some cash just to whip up my own until I can afford quality made stuff. Any help appreciated.

P.S What sort of material is best to use on hose, shirts etc.. :)

Which particular bit of Medieval - it stretches quite a long way with many fashion changes en route. As for material - shirts - linen, hose - linen or wool, usually cut on the bias to give them a bit of stretch and cling.

Hi Neil.

Just things that can cover 10th to 13th. Low status for starters. :)

it is an investment, but if you are looking into making more than one outfit or for more than one period it is very useful book.
