IIRC Della Rebours who trades at the ILF has an excellent range or worsted tapes and other braids in a variety of widths.

Ah!

I have this braid in wool, cotton and mixtures in various colours and widths. I have a very splendid grey one in wonderful soft wool too.

Can you be more specific? If so do pm or email me. I'm in south London if you would like to see the whole stock.

Hello to those people who contacted me. I have now gathered together a few twill weave braids, or whatever their proper name is. I'll make a new page on my website within the next few days with pics and measurements. I was going to do it tonight, but I got side-tracked and watched 'the wrong trousers' instead.

Some are wool, more are in cotton, and a few are probably rayon. There is one that is like jute and another that is definitely hessian. Some of the wool ones I can guarantee are wool, but since they are all vintage, some probably before the 1950's, I will be guessing at most of the others, educated guesses. I cannot say whether they will fade in the sun, or that the colour will not run - I bet that the red and possibly the orange will need pre-washing to get the waste dye out.

I've also got out two red, white and blue ribbons - one narrow and shiny and the other about 3" wide and probably made of paper. Just in case you need it for a jubliee do.

Hi all,

I've started. At

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/createthemoo ... edged.html

I've added 11 wool braids, twill weave, assorted colours and widths.

I'll put the cotton twill weave tapes up next and then the probably rayons.

I've added a couple more wool braids.

The only cream/off white ones are in cotton and polyester, no wool I'm afraid.
