Pricing a costume workshop?

Postby Shadowcat » Fri Feb 12, 2010 2:22 pm

It's a long time since I did a costume workshop, and have no idea of pricing any more. I've been asked to estimate for an occasional day course for a museum. It will be hands on, making. I don't need to worry about certification, or health and safety. Anyone able to give me an estimated/guessed figure for a day course for 6 people, in a venue to be arranged? It is probable that the course will be ongoing, i.e. several days over a period of time.

I'm doing a lot of these atm and was guided by some of the tutors who've come in and worked for me. So it seems the going rate for any kind of workshop these days is approx £30ph or £150-£200 a day + materials and you can add expenses into that

That's roughly what my outreach tutors charge me and I charge out, some a bit more others a bit less but it seems the acceptable level

If pricing PP I currently charge £40pp + materials for a 7 hr sewing class up to 6 folks

Thanks Dawn - that's pretty much what I thought, and told the enquirer.
