Split unjoined hose pattern

Postby Tod » Tue Jun 09, 2009 9:16 am

Where can I get a pattern for these (early 15th century) and also who sells braies (is that how they are spelt?). I think my girlfriend could make the former the later may be better to buy.

Ignore the above.
Jackie at Cloaked and Daggered (who has made all my medieval kit and I fully recommend - and I'm really really picky) is going to make me them.

Your breeches are easier to make than hosen, open or closed.

Just read that as breeches being easier to fill than hose. Thought Colin knew way more than he should have shared with the rest of us.
Must get new glasses.

Breathing a heavy sigh of relief. At least no sleeves would have been involved. I'm indebted to you jackie.

Can you tell she has an issue with sleeves?

Can't imagine sleeves being harder than trying to fit joined hosen properly. The groin bends in far too many directions at once!

Sleeves are my personal nemisis. I made a short coat for Tod and it took 6 attempts to get it right. I don't think I could face groins going in al directions

Is that a boast?
Or perhaps like most men an admission that you have totally no control over that area?
