book for sale

Postby JC Milwr » Thu Apr 24, 2008 11:44 am

I just had a mini-splurge on books (is 3 a splurge?). Anyway, I managed somehow to accidentally buy 2 copies of Janet Arnold's "Patterns of Fashion 1660 - 1860".

Would anyone like a brand new copy for £10? Plus a quid p&p if I post it?

I would also like to recommend "Fashion in Detail, The 17th and 18th Centuries" by Hart and North. Amazing closeups of real clothes, just a wow book!

oh I love my fashion(s) in detail.

have had the 17th & 18th one for ages - also now have the 'from around the world' one, and the 19th century one.

they're all stunning!

At the risk of being a Thread hijacker.... is there any more news on the unfinished Arnold book on linens that was being finished for publication?

Speaking to Jenny Tiramani and Santina Levey, who were working on the book, last year, I was told that it would be published this year. However, although the Effigy Corset pattern and notes were published in "Costume" last summer, there has been no further news about publication of the entire book.
