Wanted-very fine linen

Post by Peanutsmum »

Can anyone suggest the best place to buy very fine white linen to make a posh cap (C18)? I have one but it looks a bit too coarse so I'd love to do another. Thanks.

don't have contact details for all of these, (you might find some in the fabrics posting which should be stickied), but try:

my first port of call would be the goodmans - mark & ruth - got some gorgeous fine linen from them at the market one year

fabric of time - got some nice fine linen from them at cressing - not quite as fine as the goodmans, but lovely

herts fabrics - anwar usually has some lovely fine linens, though his stock varies through the year.

Wina and A-M do you want stuff finer than what my white shirt is made from? Ange got some from her local cloth shop the same as that.

I've got a sample from Whaleys and it is very nice. I'm considering ordering some. Ed are you still interested?

I don't think she will be back on line for a week or so (?).

That's OK. We'll sort it out eventually. I couldn't remember when she gets back.
