Our Fayre's object is to raise funds for our local 14th century village church. We celebrated our twenty-fifth running of the event in 2016, the Fair in 2017 will be on the weekend of 8th/9th July with the main event being on Sunday 9th. We enjoy attendance numbers of around two thousand visitors, we have a policy of not charging an entry fee for school age and younger children. The Fayre comprises a large Marquee with stalls, catering and bar, in the Main Ring we have a dog show, entertainment features and children sports. The rest of the large field has a well established vehicle rally with cars, motorcycles, lorries, coaches, commercial vehicles and tractors, the rally brings a lot of visitors in on it's own, the rally is run by our good friend Tom Sale. Also in the Fayre Field we have a Funfair, a Country Craft Village that is extremely popular, various outdoor stalls and a barbecue run by the Draycott Moor College.
Each year we like to have a display in the Main Ring that gives good entertainment value for our visitors, with an emphasis on local children being able to be involved, our philosophy being that if the children are being given good entertainment and are occupied, the rest of the family will be happy to stay at the Fayre, our visitors are happy to come along and be entertained and understand that we want to raise funds for the church. We run a bus around the local villagers, providing transport to and from the Fayre this is provided by the Potteries Omnibus Preservation Society (POPS).
We welcome stallholders wishing to have stalls at the Fayre and charge £10 for stalls and tables in the Marquee and on the field, phone or e-mail to book for this year's Fayre 01782 396190 or email@example.com.
Our hope is for a group interested in providing our main feature in the Main Ring, in the past we have been given good entertainment by a Viking re-enactment group and The Sealed Knot, English Civil War re-enactors, have also been to the Fayre, so if groups of a similar ethos are interested, please get in touch.
The Fayre is held at Highfield Farm, Uttoxeter Road. Draycott-in-the-Moors, Stoke-on-Trent. ST11 9AE, we are on the east side of Stoke-on-Trent not far off the A50, the main trunk road leading towards Derby.
