Go and read the "300" Graphic novel by Frank Miller on which the film is based. First rate.

Well, the US trailer is rated R, so if'n we're really unlucky they'll edit and turn it into a 15 here, :(

Or leave it and we'll have an 18

Having said that, teh Z-ster, Sam and I went to see Blood Diamond on sunday and some guy had his what must have been 4 or 5 year old with him judging by the volume and type of racket it was producing, now how the hell was that allowed..?

Hmm yeah, that was a tad annoying, especially as it was a 15! Still, it was an excellent film though!

Yes it was a brilliant film, made me cry at least 3 times...i'm such a soft sod! Quite difficult viewing in places but a must see. The awareness this is raising about conflict diamonds can only be a good thing!

Absolutely. An excellent, thought provoking story, with superb acting as well! A great piece of work.

Zoe if you want to see real class I'll lend you my DVD of "The 300 Spartans." Ham acting at its utter best!

Seriously tho, I've been dying for this to come out...the idea has been talked about for a good few years...and its nice to hear its actually come to fruition - its one of those stories that completely captured my imagination a while ago.

I can't wait to see it. Not bothered about historic acuracy - just can't wait to see how they've brought the comic book to life! sin city was brilliant and the look of the 300 is encouraging......and I'm always partial to a bit of muscly male fighting...no lose situation!

In view of Zoe's and MediKitten's posts, looks like I'll have to take a snorkel when I go to see it - so that I don't get drowned by the tidal wave of drool that will be supplied by the female members of the viewing public when Gerad Butler and cohorts appear on screen!

I'm going to be the voice of discontent but I was very disappointed with it. The battles were amazing and I know Dickie is now planning a rhno drawn Hussite war wagon for sure. I just wish that some of the budget had been spent ona script and that some of the CGI had been used to make it look as if the actors were acting. Some of the cast were so wooden i thought it was a Thunderbirs episode.

scripting is really the fault of the comic book. I really enjoyed it.

Saw it this afternoon (Tuesday being one of my days off).

I enjoyed for what it was, a comic book movie. Sort of like Sin City with spears insteead of guns.

Not much plot but good battle scenes. Not historically accurate but not exactly "Hollywood history" either.

I loved it. I expected no historical accuracy, that wasnt why I went to watch it, It was artistically done, full of heroic wossname, and the men were gorgeous. I accept that cunning lighting, cgi etc added to the effect as well as hard work, but its damn nice to see mature men in excellent physical condition. 8)

not overly impressed, bit homo-erotic, too airbrushed, missed the mark, not tragic enough, hence not Greek enough, good titties though

There’s a country in Europe where they treat their ex soldiers with pride no waits for medical treatment after injuries received during service, no amensia from the government. Cant for the life of me recall where it is but I know exactly where it is not.

Hmmmmmm, where to start, lets see, Leather Loin Cloths, lack of correct armour with no other reason than to show of airbrushed torso's, long withering shots of men in leather loin cloths, too much bonding (man'o'man), that Homo Erotic enough, not Homo Phobic but eye candy for blokes,
