Postby Marcus Woodhouse » Mon Mar 20, 2017 9:19 pm

Wolfgang Faust, originally published as Kessel Panzer, translation from German 2015. Subtitled The Breakout from the Halbe Pocket, April- May 1945.
First written in the early 1950's by a former Panzer driver then commander but unpublished in his lifetime. It is a first hand account of the last fighting to take place in Germany when the encircled Ninth Army attempted to break out of their defensive positions north of Berlin with the sole aim of surrendering to the US and French.
