Focusing upon the 15th century this book is a study of women in Renaissance Italy, most especially those who completely fitted into a male dominated world and more than held their own. One of the best books on Italian medieval history that I have come across. Full of both minute details that are new facts for me to mull over alongside insightful observation. Wonderful.
