Blood on the Risers

Postby Marcus Woodhouse » Thu May 26, 2016 5:24 pm

An airborne soldiers thirty five months in Vietnam. By John Leppeleman. Ballantine books, ISBN 0-8041-0562-6.
This is the story of the authors three tours of Vietnam where he served with the 173rd Airbourne Brigade taking part in that units only combat jump, with the 9th Division as a member of their "riverinemobile" brigade during the Tet Offensive and finally with the 75th Ranger Regiment as a LRRP team member.
As much about his total dissatisfaction with the equipment, weapons, leadership and rules of engagement as anything else. The author doesn't try to hide his bitterness or his inability to fit in with life since leaving the forces
