The Scandalous Lady W : Question on language

I am watching this on BBC Two this evening (August 17th) and would like to know how much of the language used is genuine late 18th century language and which has been modernised. For instance, there has been generous uses of the word "sir" and "madam" when I sure that went out in the 17th century and yet Lord Worsley has just used the "f" word in conversation (which I am sure would never happen) or did language do a complete 180° turn so that by the Victorian era conversation sounded like this
