John Pohl, illustrations by Gerry Embelton. Osprey Publishing 2015. ISBN 978-1-4728-0419-8.
Bought by my wife as a birthday present for me and a companion of sorts to a similar title about the Portuguese during the age of discovery.
The high class illustrations are what you expect from Gerry Embleton, with the added bonus (for me at least) that they included images of men from the Arogonese campaigns in Italy.
Brief details only about the various Iberian, civil and Italian wars that took place during the titles time frame, but given the complexity and number of them this was understandable.
Some very fine images from private collections were also of interest to me.
Even though I looked very hard not one showed a ninja Spanish templar wandering the badlands of Wales.
