The Doubleday Publishing Group 2008. ISBN 978-0-385-52468.
A fantastic book that has actually re-ignited my interest in medieval re-enactment and Italian 15th century history.
I will not go into the book in too much detail as it would ruin what is a devilish real life murder mystery (the Pazzi Conspiracy to assassinate the ruling Medici clan of Florence). It is, however amazing, how much is hidden within the art and literature of the period which the author has helped me to understand.
This is, just in case you thought it was historical fiction, a very serious and important study of one of the most defining moments of the Renaissance.
