Forces of the Hanseatic League

David Nicolle, ISBN 978-1-78200-779-1, Osprey Publishing 2014.
Well it is a Osprey book so you get the usual fare, illustrated in this case by Gerry and Sam Embleton, with the normal mix of useful and not so useful stuff. A reasonable timeline is there but as you would expect it concentrates upon the fighting forces of the League rather then the trading side. I would have liked more about the wars with Castille and England as they are part of the period I am portraying but I understand why constraints prevents my every dream being fulfilled. Not as good as some Osprey books on the period but better then others. Overall I am pleased I got it second hand (but would not have at all been paying the full price).
