Flamstead Scarecrow festival 9/10/11 August 2019

Flamstead scarecrow festival is a village festival to raise funds to repair the roof and fabric of St. Leonards church which contains important 13th & 15th century wall paintings

Running alongside the festival is a "fair" which tends to be full of the usual tat... having recently gained heritage status we are looking to make the fair more in keeping and as such are looking for period traders who might like to come and peddle their wares or even better demonstrate their trades.

Would be ideal for potter/tile maker/pilgrim badge makers etc. The fair is set up in the churchyard - I'll get more information re price per pitch etc but if you are interested please get in touch.

The church is over 900 years old, grade 1 listed, houses rare 13th century wall paintings and is in need of major repairs (starting with a new roof)

The festival gets over 5000 visitors over the weekend and your presence would be greatly appreciated.
