Can anyone make copper pots?

Postby Cossack! » Fri Aug 02, 2013 1:52 am

Hello, i am looking for a trader or crafty person who can reproduce a copper pot for me. I have an original ww1 Russian copper mess tin - it is dated 1911, thus it is old and i do not really want to take it out to events - these pots are fairly rare now and fetch a premium on ebay and militaria shops. as my little group is hoping to expand and become a ww1 Russian infantry unit i would require more than one - maybe to be made in small batches when required? also cost would be of serious consideration and thought as they would need to be a financially viable alternative to the originals.
if you think you maybe able to help please contact me.
the pictures show the mess tin, i can provide dimensions and other details/more pictures etc - thank you

There's a coppersmith here on guernsey. However he ain't cheap, expect to pay a very tidy sum if interested?

czar tank - have you got a link, i can not find it!
AndyandHelen - thank you, i've set myself a challenge to find a cheaper alternative to the original ones. Nowadays it seems i would pay about £100+ maybe as much as £200 for a good one. For the ww1 Russian soldier it's a relatively vital part of the equipment, but i think it's quite unfair and unrealistic now to expect new members to my group to find one and pay the prices - especially as Imperial Russian army is probably the most expensive Russian army of the 20th century to get right.
let's see what these American made ones are like
