Anyone trading at Lincoln?

Postby Miss Costello » Tue Nov 06, 2012 7:48 pm

Just watching Look North and there are big changes to the way that pedestrians are directed around the market. They won't be free to wander up and down steep hill etc, they are introducing a one way system.

If you're trading you might want to look into this. If you search on the Look North website, (Humber region)

They've had to do that at the Bath Christmas market for the last couple of years. Unfortunately necessary due to the sheer numbers attending.

Well, not according to the BBC who did this piece after complaints from traders!

I don't trade there, but I live in the area and thought it may be of use.

They lifted the one way system at the market 3 years ago due to a health & safety issue and now, ironically due to a different health & safety issue they are re-instating it?????

My understanding is that you will only be allowed up steep hill and will have to go back down a different way.

Even more worrying are the meeting currently being held about moving the market away from town altogether and to the Showground  cannot see that but still a little worrying.

This life must be a test, if it were the real thing we'd have been given better instructions.

wow, if they did that an awful lot of traders in town would suffer massively, I would have thought they would rely on that trade now its been on for so many years, I went for a walk in the town at peek time a couple of years ago the crowd was so densely packed it was claustrophobic, the Bishops Palace market is nicer lol :)

I went once after doing a gig at the museum of lincs life. I could happily have committed murder. Seriously!

Nightmarish! Can see how people suffer from panic attacks! :D
