The Battle of Mortimer's Cross, September 15th & 16th 2012

This years event has moved to Hampton Court Castle, Gardens & parkland ( which is just South of Leominster in Herefordshire and will take place over the weekend of September 15th & 16th.

If you take a look at our website: you'll see all the groups and traders that are already booked in as well as directions for finding the Castle.

You can arrive from midday on Friday September 14th to start setting up (If you need to arrive earlier then please get in contact)
Friday evening "The Brewhouse" will be open and there will be a disco.

A cooked breakfast will be available at the Castle (details & prices tbc)
The show opens at 10.30 and finishes at 17.00 with a range of activities throughout the day including Music, Dance, archery competition, The Battle itself, living history displays and traders row.
On the Saturday evening there will be a "bring and buy" sale where you can sell on any unwanted equipment.
There will be live music with "The Dolman" and the "Theme" is Pirates.
There will be food available from the Castle for re-enactors in the evening too. (details & prices tbc)

Show opens at 10.30 and finishes at 17.00

You are welcome to stay over until Monday morning if required.

There will be 2 separate areas for camping, one for Authentic and one for plastic and caravans. There will be access to proper flushing toilets for both areas. Wood will be supplied for the authentic camps only! (fires must be raised)

Castle access
There will be access for all to wander through the Castle during the day, soft kit only and no weapons!

Each group and trader must have public liability insurance.
We will send out full details in August to all registered groups/traders.

The Battle of Mortimer's Cross took place in 1461, so please wear appropriate "costume"
The event is open to all groups but minimum standards must be applied to give the event the correct look and feel. If you are unsure please contact us.
