Scotland's Festival of History 2011

Postby Montsegur » Wed Jun 22, 2011 5:03 pm

Plans are well advanced for Scotland's largest re-enactment show, the multi-period Scotland's Festival of History.
A popular and well established event, it is held in Lanark, just over an hour north (via M74) from Carlisle.

We had about 6000 visitors last year and are hoping a professional marketing exercise, including the use of a PR agency, will increase that figure.

Thanks to support from Scotland's national events agency, EventScotland, and the country's leading regional newspaper group, S&UN, we are ploughing more than £30,000 into giving traders, groups and MOPS as good a show as is possible.

We already have more groups and traders registered than before (with some still to be added to the website).

If you are interested in taking part in what many well respected traders here consider a "must do" show there is still time to register - either by PM or via the website on line registration section.

There is also some further details in the events section - and for those of you new to Lanark the comprehensive website includes everything you need to know, as well as past TV documentaries.

Free on-site camping is available from the Thursday (Wednesday if you don't need to erect your trading tent) until the Monday.

We are looking forward to this fantastic event again.
For those of you that are not quite sure at the moment, the beer tent is great!

The beer tent is run by Strathaven Ales, a local, award winning independent brewery - whose latest brew is an alcoholic ginger beer.

If you have special requests for the weekend (beer tent open Fri & Sat nights for re-enactors/traders) contact Craig at the brewery -
